A. 1) Where was the ship?

= The ship was lying a wreck about half a mile away.


2) Why was Crusoe going to the ship?

= Crusoe was going to the ship as he needed food and clothes and he hoped to be able to find them there.


3) What did he find in the store room?

= He found - seven guns, gunpowder, an axe and other tools , some clothes, some books and some barrels of food in the store room.


4) How did he bring his things to the shore?

= He tied some logs of wood together and made a rough platform raft. He used this raft to carry him and his goods safely to the shore.


B. 1) What did Crusoe climb?

= Crusoe climbed the highest hill.


2) What did he see from the top of the hill?

= he saw that he was on a deserted island. The sea was on all sides of him.


3) Were there any men living on the island?

= There were no men living on the island.
